Ballet
Young Children’s Ballet (ages 3-5):

The young children practice their manners in class, learn how to keep their spacing in lines, columns, and circles, and how to move in these formations by following-the-leader in marches, skips, and runs. They are introduced to ballet stretches, mime, and exercises of plié, relevé, tendu, jumps, and port de bra in first and second positions. They also do improvisational dance with scarves, tutus, and tambourines.

Children’s Ballet (ages 6-8):

Adding to what is practiced in the lower level, the children are introduced to rhythm, counting music, and more ballet exercises of jeté, rond de jambe, grand battement, third position; and how to use the opposition arm, such as, in balances and skips. They are taught the non-verbal art form of mime and ballet gestures – the silent way of telling a story or communicating a feeling.

Beginning Ballet (ages 9-12 & Teen/Adult):

The students will learn basic ballet technique in simple combinations by practicing a series of ballet exercises at the barre, in the centre, across the diagonal, and special floor stretches. These exercises are all for balance, posture, grace, musicality, coordination of head, arms, and legs, and to learn ballet technique..
